Fred’s journey with Keystone Treatment Center began in 1994 when he sought inpatient treatment for addiction. Two years later, he returned—not as a patient, but as a behavioral health technician. During this time, he met Dr. Ron Perkinson, who prayed with him and said, “You know what, Fred, I think you are going to be a chemical dependency counselor.” Inspired by those words, Fred pursued his education and earned his degree in 2000.
He began his counseling career at Keystone Outreach before moving to New Life Treatment Center in Minnesota in 2006. After nearly two decades there, Fred returned to Keystone Treatment Center in 2024. Shortly after, he was appointed Director of Keystone Outreach.
A fun fact about Fred: before entering treatment, he was a certified mechanic. Today, he is proud to share that he has been clean and sober for 29 years—proof that commitment to recovery leads to lasting success.
